Easter Trails on the Broads

Easter can be a fantastic time to visit the Norfolk Broads with a number of events taking place across the county. What’s more, with Mother Nature bursting back to life and the warm weather slowly returning to the region, the countryside also has a lot to offer visitors at this time of year.

Spring is the perfect time to strap on those walking boots and get out to explore the Norfolk countryside. There is a huge choice of walking routes available across the county, ensuring there’s a walk somewhere to suit you perfectly. If you’re staying in or around Acle, there are a number of walks in the local area to try. Stroll to the nearby Village of Stokesby, wander over to Upton Green or simply head out into the broads and explore the extensive network of footpaths.

The area around Ludham is also fantastic for walking. Stroll along the river Ant, explore the How Hill National Nature Reserve or walk through the lanes to the nearby village of Potter Heigham.


Easter Nature Events

If you want to learn more about Norfolk’s flora and fauna, taking part in a nature walk is a great way to do it. Between 6th April and 8th April, RSPB Strumpshaw Fen is holding a Go Wild at Easter event. Located in the heart of the Broads, this beautiful protected area makes a fantastic destination for a day out. Over the week there’ll be a variety of drop-in events taking place including hands-on activities to help you get up close and personal with the region’s wildlife.


Easter Egg Hunts

As every child knows, no Easter getaway would be complete without an Easter egg hunt. There are a number of Easter egg hunts taking place over the weekend, giving you plenty of opportunities to fill your belly with chocolate. On Friday 19th April, there’s an action packed Easter egg hunt at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden. As well as the egg hunt, there’ll also be face painting and Easter crafts for children.

If you want to get a head start on the Easter weekend, head over to Museum of The Broads on Friday 5th April. There’ll be a fun family Easter egg trail as well as a number of other activities taking place throughout the day.
